Description
The state of Schleswig-Holstein supports non-profit organizations, public institutions, interest groups, and associations in providing placements for the Voluntary Social Year. The goal is to strengthen social, health, and labor market competencies through high-quality educational supervision. For this purpose, personnel and material costs for placement sites in welfare services, child and youth welfare, healthcare, culture/monument preservation, and sports are supported with a grant of up to €100 per month and volunteer. The funding guideline is aimed at providers approved under the Youth Voluntary Service Act who pursue non-profit objectives and wish to support young people up to the age of 27 for a period of 6 to 24 months.
A fundamental requirement is a non-profit objective as well as an appropriate co-financing share by the providers. Furthermore, educational professionals with a university or college degree must be employed and be available as contact persons for volunteers at all times. The payment of an allowance amounting to at least 40% of the maximum amount must also be ensured, as well as close cooperation with the responsible state authority. Applications must be submitted to the responsible ministry administration by June 1 of a fiscal year in order to receive the funds in time for the planned deployment period.
