Description
The Voluntary Social Year in Politics at the Political Education Forum Saxony of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation is aimed at committed young people and young adults in Saxony who wish to gain insight into political education work between September and August. During the twelve-month period, participants support the planning, organization, and follow-up of a variety of events. A special focus is placed on social media and public relations: creative contributions for digital channels and strategies for addressing different target groups are developed. Furthermore, the program provides space for the development and independent implementation of an individual project, allowing personal ideas to be accompanied from conception to realization. Participants work closely with experts from politics and civil society and actively contribute to making political dialogues and democratic processes visible. The funding area and type are designed as participation, thereby fully integrating the participants into the structures of a non-profit foundation.
The aim of the Voluntary Social Year in Politics is to promote social engagement, offer political and professional orientation, and enable young people to strengthen their skills. Eligible for funding are private individuals interested in politics, education, and social participation. Applications are accepted annually between March and May via the Saxon Youth Foundation; the program start is possible each year on September 1st of the following year. The offer combines practical experience in the fields of education & training, media, work & social affairs, as well as culture & media, and contributes to social cohesion and the strengthening of democratic structures.
