Description
The Fritz-Berger Fund – Support for People with Disabilities assists severely disabled individuals residing in the district of Lörrach who are unable to engage in employment outside of sheltered workshops (e.g., WfbM). The aim is to promote independence, self-determination, and social participation. Individual case assistance and travel subsidies are funded with 100% cost coverage up to €500 per person per year. Travel and program costs (accommodation, meals, transportation, and supervision services) are reimbursed upon submission of original receipts, as are curative education measures, consultation costs for housing adaptations, or costs for assistive devices, provided these exceed the statutory fixed amounts. Additionally, personnel expenses for accompanying persons, supervision costs, and, in the case of mental disabilities, 50% of travel costs may be funded. Expenses for dental prostheses, glasses, and medication are not eligible for funding.
Requirements for application include a degree of disability of at least 50 or a significant disability according to SGB IX, proof of financial need (income and asset limits), as well as presentation of the severe disability ID card or a corresponding integration assistance notice. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no deadline. Allocation is made in the order of receipt, considering the relevance of the measure to the funding objective and the availability of funds. Required documents include proof of income and assets, proof of use, as well as invoices and receipts. The complete funding guidelines, application forms for individual assistance and travel, as well as a flyer, are available as PDF documents from the Fritz-Berger Fund.
