Description

The GEH DEINEN WEG – Scholarship and Mentoring Program is aimed at young people aged 16 to 29 with their own or family migration background and primary residence in Germany. Its goal is the ideal promotion of equal opportunities and social cohesion through individual support, mentoring, and practice-oriented qualification offers. Over a period of 24 months, participants benefit from a tightly structured program consisting of workshops, networking events, and personal mentor tandems. The Germany Foundation for Integration, a non-profit foundation under the patronage of the Federal Chancellor, provides, in addition to professional expertise, a travel allowance as well as coverage of accommodation costs to ensure nationwide participation.

The selection of up to 100 scholarship holders takes place through a two-stage process in which a specialist jury considers performance level, motivation, social engagement, and overall biography. Requirements include special qualifications in academic, professional, or cultural areas as well as a pronounced sense of responsibility. Online applications are possible from June 1 to August 31, 2026, and include information on the applicant’s background, certificates, and a letter of reference. The program is scheduled to start in January 2027. Participation opens up diverse opportunities to develop personal potential, facilitate entry into career and society, and contribute sustainably to cohesion in German society.
