Description
The funding program Joint Task “Improvement of Regional Economic Structures – Promotion of Business-Related Municipal Infrastructure (GRW-I)” is aimed at local authorities and municipal associations in the state of Brandenburg. It supports projects in the areas of infrastructure & urban development, regional promotion, smart cities & regions, agriculture & rural development, as well as digitalization: from the development and expansion of industrial and commercial areas to connections to road, rail, water, and energy supply networks, up to basic tourist facilities and smart city solutions. Grants of up to 60% of eligible expenses contribute to financing. Innovative inter-municipal cooperations, climate protection measures, and skilled labor retention projects additionally qualify for maximum funding rates of up to 80%. Project ancillary costs, planning and consulting services, as well as marketing measures based on public procurement procedures are also eligible for funding.
Applications are submitted continuously via the customer portal of the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB) following prior consultation with funding advisors. A minimum investment of 50,000 euros and integration into a regional development strategy are prerequisites. Important documents – such as project description, financing plan, site and approval planning, as well as proof of own contribution – must be submitted via the ILB portal. If complete documents are submitted by June 30, a decision can still be expected within the current fiscal year. Binding application review, transparent funding criteria, and a binding purpose commitment over 15 years ensure sustainable impact: GRW-I increases location attractiveness, strengthens regional competitiveness, and contributes to future-proof infrastructure in Brandenburg.
