Description

The program “Generation-appropriate and barrier-free adaptation of rental residential buildings through modernization and renovation and new rental housing construction” by the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB) is aimed at private individuals, companies, and public institutions in Brandenburg. It supports the modernization and renovation of existing buildings as well as the construction of new rental apartments – always with a focus on accessibility, generation-appropriate design, and socially acceptable rents. Eligible for funding are owners, leasehold holders, and other authorized persons who wish to create or modernize living space for families, seniors, students, trainees, or people with disabilities. In addition to classic new construction projects, model projects for contemporary forms of living can also be funded, as well as the construction or extension of elevators and the creation of dormitory places.

Prerequisites for funding include, among other things, location within designated funding area boundaries, a personal contribution of at least 15% of the recognized total costs, as well as compliance with market-appropriate apartment sizes, rent, and occupancy binding rules. For modernization and renovation measures, grants of up to EUR 300 and loans of EUR 2,000 per square meter of living space are granted; for new construction, up to EUR 500 in grants and EUR 3,000 in loans, with an additional grant supplement for long-term use restrictions. For elevator measures, loans of up to EUR 20,000 and grants of up to EUR 5,000 per apartment are possible. Applications can be submitted to the ILB at any time before the start of the measure, which conducts an individual funding calculation based on the economic viability of the property.
