Description

Within the framework of the ongoing Genussland funding programs in Upper Austria, innovative projects, measures, and events are supported that assist agricultural and forestry enterprises in developing new sources of income. Funding is provided for the development and implementation of novel products, services, and processes in plant and animal production, their processing, and marketing. Additionally, the program grants subsidies for personnel and material expenses for projects aimed at preserving a small-scale agricultural structure while considering social, ecological, and economic requirements. The focus is on creative ideas to strengthen regional promotion and rural development, highlighting the value of local food products under the Genussland Upper Austria quality and marketing initiative and sustainably expanding sales opportunities for regional products.

Potential applicants include agricultural producers (direct marketers), small businesses (manufacturers), gastronomy enterprises, and private individuals. Prerequisites for funding are an informal written application with a project description, cost and financing plan, as well as a presentation of the connection to regionality and the goals of Genussland Upper Austria. The application must be submitted to the State of Upper Austria before the project execution begins; ongoing applications are possible. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material costs, and marketing measures for brand positioning. The objective of the measure is to secure jobs in small-scale and commercial food production, enable new combinations of income, and sustainably open up market opportunities for regional agriculture.
