Description

The program Low-Investment Measures of the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank (IFB Hamburg) supports hydraulic balancing and heating optimization in existing residential buildings in Hamburg. The goal is a significant reduction in energy consumption and CO₂ emissions through targeted measures in the heating circuit and the components of heat distribution. Eligible for funding are owners as well as owner communities or other real right holders (for example, leasehold beneficiaries) of residential buildings in Hamburg. In addition to hydraulic balancing, surrounding measures such as the replacement of circulation and pump systems, presettable thermostatic valves or smart thermostats, insulation of heat distribution pipes, installation of smart metering systems, as well as professional planning and construction supervision are funded.

The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant amounting to 15% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of €3,000 per residential unit. Requirements include, among others, a residential building located in Hamburg, a commissioned heat generation device aged between five and 15 years, an operational period of at least two years after completion of the measure, and the application being submitted before the start of the measure. Condominium owner communities submit the application jointly via the digital e-application portal; a power of attorney from the co-owners is required. A quote, digital identification, proof of use, and an annex technical report are among the documents to be submitted. With this funding, IFB Hamburg contributes to the energy-efficient modernization and climate protection of the urban housing stock.
