Description
Multi-Storey Construction Funding Styria supports non-profit housing associations and municipalities in the creation of multi-storey residential construction projects in Styria. Funding is provided for owner-occupied, rental, and social rental apartments as well as dormitories for students and seniors. The funding is granted through non-repayable subsidies amounting to 2% to 3.5% of the outstanding capital of capital market loans, other external funds, or equity with terms of up to 30 years. The funding is unlimited in duration, and applications can be submitted at any time. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations, public institutions, and local authorities. Eligible expenses include construction and planning costs. Requirements include the construction of subsidized apartments under the Styrian Housing Promotion Act 1993, compliance with energy and sound insulation certificates, and construction in multi-storey design.
The quality and economic efficiency of the planning are assessed based on urban integration, architectural façade design, functional floor plan solutions, and economic efficiency. To be submitted, in addition to proof from an architect and open space planner, are the Multi-Storey Construction Checklist (WBF-9), the funding application (WBF-1), promissory note, affidavit, building physics certificate (WBF-6a), and energy technical report (WBF-3). The jury consists of representatives from the municipality, the housing committee, the awarding body, and a specialist judge. Unannounced inspections of the construction projects are possible; accounting documents must be retained for seven years. The funding aims to create a demand-oriented, barrier-free, energy-efficient, and socially acceptable housing supply in Styria.
