Funding objective

The purpose of this program is to enable people with disabilities who are not competitive in the general labor market to secure collectively agreed or customary remuneration in suitable sheltered workplaces. Employers of inclusive enterprises as well as other institutions receive a subsidy of up to 65% of the wage differential in accordance with § 13 para. 2 Bgld. SUG.

Funding requirements

  • Employees must be Austrian citizens, entitled asylum seekers, or have been permanently residing in the federal territory for at least five years
  • Main residence and actual stay in Burgenland
  • Full payment of the collectively agreed or company-standard remuneration
  • Fulfillment of medical requirements: no expected deterioration of health condition due to the activity

Description

The funding program for protected workplaces in Burgenland aims to provide people with disabilities, who are not competitive in the regular labor market, with secure employment at collectively agreed or company-standard wages. Employers of inclusive enterprises as well as other institutions can receive a subsidy of up to 65% of the wage difference in accordance with § 13 para. 2 Bgld. SUG. The continuously open submission possibility from 01.10.2024 guarantees flexible application without a deadline and immediately offers planning security for both the company and employees alike.

Wage and salary costs are funded for persons whose main residence is in Burgenland, who are Austrian citizens, asylum beneficiaries, or have been permanently settled in the federal territory for at least five years. Full payment of the collectively agreed wage as well as a medical or psychological report indicating no expected deterioration of health condition constitute the substantive requirements. For the funding application, the official application form according to the Bgld. Equal Opportunities Act, income proofs for the last six months, medical or psychological findings, cost estimates, and, if applicable, expert reports must be submitted. This instrument makes an important contribution to the participation and integration of people with disabilities in companies and simultaneously strengthens the social responsibility of the regional economy.
