Society for Research Promotion (GFF)

The Society for Research Promotion (GFF), as a grant program of the State of Lower Austria, continuously provides financial contributions to specifically strengthen research projects and tertiary education in the region. Eligible for funding are, in addition to public and non-profit institutions, also companies, educational institutions, as well as private individuals with a clear connection to Lower Austria. Universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutions, and scientists, as well as students and young professionals, may submit an application at any time. A contribution to the state's R&D strategy is expected, promoting both innovation and practice-oriented further development of the education sector.

To apply, a written request using the provided form is required, which must be fully completed and personally signed, then submitted by post or fax. A meaningful project description with a detailed cost breakdown and financing plan forms the basis for evaluation. Assessment criteria include, among others, the feasibility of the project, the incentive effect, as well as the completeness and realism of the financing plan. Funding can cover partial or full financing and is not subject to a fixed budget volume, as long as the funds are covered in the state budget. As a continuous funding opportunity, the GFF ensures indefinite support for forward-looking projects in the science and education sector of Lower Austria.
