Shareholder Contributions to Affiliated Companies of the City of Graz

The City of Graz continuously grants shareholder subsidies to municipal participations in the form of non-repayable grants, without requiring an immediate monetary consideration. This funding measure supports corporations in which the City of Graz, alone or together with other local authorities, directly or indirectly holds 100% of the share or capital stock. The aim is to provide financial compensation for the provision of public services by outsourced legal entities and thereby ensure their sustainable operation in the interest of the general public. The funding is valid throughout Austria and relies on continuous application submissions to be able to respond at any time to the financial needs of the respective companies.

For the application, a resolution by the competent body of the City of Graz according to the statute of the state capital is required. Additionally, a financing agreement may need to be submitted. Funding applications can be submitted from 01.01.2024 without a deadline, allowing interested corporations to prepare their grant applications flexibly. The City of Graz as the funding provider, through MA 8 – Finance Directorate, provides the administrative interface that reviews all necessary documents and coordinates the process. The unlimited duration and continuous procedure ensure that efficient participations will continue to receive the necessary funds for public tasks in the future. This measure underscores the City of Graz’s commitment to financially securing its municipal subsidiaries and thus ensuring a stable municipal infrastructure.
