Description

The German Relief Foundation supports social projects nationwide through a grant program that strengthens social participation and opens up sustainable future opportunities. In particular, innovative initiatives in child and youth welfare, disability assistance, refugee integration, and the welfare sector are supported. Funding is provided for initiatives that enable genuine participation and promote social cohesion by developing tailored services for disadvantaged groups. A key focus lies on the participation of beneficiaries, the long-term impact of the measures, and the exemplary character intended to inspire replication. Project start is possible no earlier than December 1, 2026.

Only non-profit organizations that have successfully undergone an organizational audit by June 24, 2026, are eligible for funding. Each sponsoring organization may submit only one application per funding round. The complete project documentation must be submitted digitally between May 21 and July 1, 2026, and includes, among other things, the current tax exemption certificate, an extract from the register, statutes or articles of association, proof of own funds, a statement from the municipality, as well as a detailed cost and financing plan. Selection is based on the criteria of alignment with the needs of the target groups, sustainability of impact, participation, and replicability. Projects that have already started or plan solely individual events are not eligible to apply. With this initiative, the Foundation aims to contribute to ensuring that children, young people, people with disabilities, and refugees actively participate in social life and are sustainably empowered.
