Description
The separate funding in the area of environmental and nature conservation by the City of Villach continuously supports environmental and nature conservation-related projects in Carinthia that are not covered by the existing subsidy regulations. Private individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, and associations can submit applications from January 1, 2025, to implement measures in the fields of environment/nature conservation, energy efficiency, and climate protection. Innovative concepts and concrete projects that make a tangible contribution to the conservation of natural resources and the reduction of emissions are supported. In addition to technical solutions, the grant program aims to encourage near-natural renaturation measures and environmental education activities.
A prerequisite for approval is the formal application and the positive decision by the responsible Committee for Environment and Nature Conservation. The scope of funding is granted as a direct subsidy and is based on the cost-benefit analyses presented in the application. The program is managed by the Department of Plant Law and Environmental Protection of the City of Villach’s Magistrate Directorate, which provides professional support for projects, reviews statutory environmental requirements, and coordinates municipal funding initiatives. Through this support, the funding makes an active contribution to strengthening regional climate protection measures and the sustainable development of the quality of life in Villach and its surroundings.
