Granting of Interest Subsidies to Young Successors in Agriculture

The state of Vorarlberg supports young farm successors within the framework of the Agricultural and Forestry Promotion Act (LFFG) with interest subsidies. The aim is to facilitate the operational start for young owners and to promote the sustainable management of rural areas. The funding is continuous and can be applied for throughout the year, with the available funds being determined annually in the state budget. Designed as a grant, the measure compensates part of the loan costs, thereby creating stable financial conditions for the long-term continuation of agricultural enterprises in Vorarlberg.

Eligible for funding are private natural persons up to the age of 35 who have taken over an agricultural enterprise located in Vorarlberg as owners and who operate and reside on it year-round. A prerequisite for the interest subsidy is the taking out of a bank-standard loan, including the preparation of an individual financing plan, as well as the submission of a complete funding application through the Chamber of Agriculture Vorarlberg. The measure specifically targets young farm successors who are relieved of ongoing financing costs through the subsidy, thus securing their investments in buildings, machinery, and sustainable production methods. Prompt application submission enables swift approval and contributes to strengthening the agricultural youth as a driving force for rural development.
