Description

The Hamburg heating subsidy from the Authority for Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture is aimed at companies, private individuals, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and foundations with projects within the city area of Hamburg. The program provides financial support as a grant for the expansion and modernization of heating systems based on renewable energies. Funding is provided particularly for solar thermal energy, biomass heating systems, heat pumps, as well as the development of surface and deep geothermal sources. Additionally, investments in heat distribution networks, heat storage systems, and the multiple use of areas for heat generation are subsidized. Up to EUR 500,000 can be applied for per individual project. Applications can be submitted continuously and must be made prior to the start of the measure, whereby the subsidized systems must comply with recognized technical standards and proof of a legal right of disposal on the property must be provided.

Eligible expenses include, among others, investment costs for solar thermal systems including monitoring, the replacement of fossil heating systems in combination with solar thermal energy, biomass boilers, heat pumps including associated measures, as well as development depths up to 400 m. Additionally, costs for the construction or expansion of heat distribution networks, the new construction of heat storage systems with a volume of at least 4 m³, and innovative land uses are eligible for funding. Excluded are systems for process heat, the replacement of heating systems commissioned less than ten years ago, as well as measures already funded under KWKG or EEG. For applications via the IFB Hamburg e-application portal, cost estimates, technical documents, proof of professional installation by a licensed craft company, as well as a usage report including a factual report must be submitted.
