Description

The program “Harmonization of Parental Fees for 3-Year-Old Children” in Vorarlberg offers a uniform subsidy for care services in toddler groups, playgroups, privately operated kindergarten groups, and with day parents. Providers from public-law institutions, non-profit organizations, companies, and private individuals can submit applications on an ongoing basis. With a flat parental fee for up to 25 hours per week, cost-equivalent care for all 3-year-old children is ensured. This funding reduces financial barriers and guarantees equal accessibility to qualified care places. The subsidy is paid directly to the providers of the care services and ensures transparent calculation of parental contributions in all facilities.

The funding objective is to guarantee equal care costs in public and private early childhood education and care services through state co-financing. Beneficiaries are, on the one hand, 3-year-old children and their parents, and on the other hand, service providers in the early childhood sector. Responsibility lies with the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government, Department IIa – Early Childhood Education, School and Society, Early Childhood Education Division, which ensures quality assurance, further development, and information on funding criteria. Through needs-based support, facilities are relieved and parents gain planning security. This funding instrument strengthens the compatibility of family and work as well as equal opportunities in early education. Applications can be submitted at any time; timely planning and coordination with the responsible authorities ensure smooth processing.
