Description

In Vorarlberg, starting from the 2025/26 care year, the state supports 3-year-old children with a flat-rate subsidy for up to 25 hours per week in toddler groups, playgroups, private kindergarten groups, and with childminders. This harmonization of the parental fee aims to ensure family-friendly and fair childcare contributions by applying a uniform standard rate of €46.00 per month across the region. Companies, public institutions, and private individuals can benefit from this funding measure, provided the care is carried out in accordance with the statewide established framework conditions. The measure falls within the areas of children and youth as well as education, labor & social affairs, and training, contributing to the relief of parents or guardians.

The prerequisite for the subsidy is the completion of the third year of life by the cut-off date of August 31 of the respective care year, as well as a minimum care duration of four hours per week for playgroups and childminders, or ten hours for toddler and kindergarten groups. The care facility’s fee must not be below the standard rate. For private legal entities and childminders, a needs or location confirmation from the respective municipality is required. Billing must be submitted in two half-year periods by March 15 and September 15 at the latest, with complete documentation by January 10 of the following year. In addition to the monthly overview of the respective half-year, child lists may be requested upon inquiry. This ensures a transparent, fair, and family-friendly fee structure.
