Description
The State of Styria supports young families and equivalent persons in establishing their first household through a permanent, non-repayable grant in the form of a 5% interest subsidy on loans or amortization credits. Funding is provided for the acquisition of owner-occupied homes, ownership and rent-to-own apartments, as well as necessary furnishings, renovation work, and flooring installations. The maximum funding amount ranges from €4,000 to €10,000 depending on the volume of expenses; the minimum expenditure is €15,000. The funding areas include housing construction & modernization as well as infrastructure & urban development, with no fixed application deadline and the possibility to apply online.
Eligible applicants are married couples or registered partners (one person under 35, both under 40), cohabiting partners with at least one child under guardianship, single parents under 40, persons with disabilities (minimum 80% reduction in earning capacity), families with three or more children or with a disabled child. Furthermore, applicants must be Austrian citizens or equivalent persons (EU/EWR/CH/refugees) and provide proof of first-time home acquisition within the scope of household establishment. For expenses exceeding €100,000, a loan agreement with a credit institution is additionally required. The application requires, among other documents, proof of citizenship, family allowance confirmation, registration certificate, certificates of marriage/partnership and children, disability pass, as well as purchase, usage, or construction documents and invoices. Processing is automated upon submission of the required documents, which must be submitted as proof of use within six months after approval.
