Therapeutic Treatment for People with Disabilities

Within the framework of therapeutic treatment for people with disabilities in Styria, the state specifically supports medical and therapeutic measures as well as the provision of remedies and care in hospitals, rehabilitation, or other institutions. Additionally, necessary travel costs to the nearest suitable service provider via the most economical and reasonable means of transport are funded. This subsidy is available to private individuals with their main residence in Styria who hold citizenship of an EEA country, Swiss citizenship, or a corresponding Austrian residence permit and are authorized for a stay exceeding three months. People with disabilities within the meaning of this funding are individuals whose physical, intellectual, psychological, or sensory functions are impaired not only temporarily and who are therefore hindered in their social participation.

Aiming to achieve complete recovery, significant improvement, or a slowing of the disease progression, or to delay the worsening of existing impairments, this open, ongoing funding opportunity provides important relief. Applications can be submitted at any time from January 1, 2026. Department 11 "Social Affairs, Labor and Integration" of the Styrian Provincial Government is responsible for the planning, awarding, and administration of these direct subsidies. The program is aimed at all potential applicants seeking a sustainable improvement in their quality of life and medical care and underscores the region’s commitment to inclusive health and social services.
