Description
The Heimat-Touren NRW program funds one-day class trips to selected nature and cultural projects within North Rhine-Westphalia and is aimed at all educational institutions in the state. A flat rate of €400 per trip is reimbursed to cover transportation costs, admission fees, and educational services at locations supported by the NRW Foundation. This offer is intended to enable students to experience their immediate homeland intensively, explore local cultural sites, and gain firsthand knowledge of environmental and nature conservation projects. Funding is provided at 100% and is limited to up to five individual class trips per school in the application year. Multi-day trips, excursions as part of afternoon or holiday care, and cancellation costs are not eligible for funding.
Applications can be submitted from February 9 at 3:00 p.m. and from September 1 at 12:00 a.m., as long as the available budget has not been exhausted. Approvals are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The online application form, a visit confirmation, and the transportation company’s invoice must be submitted for the application. A prerequisite for funding is that the outbound and return trips take place on the same day and that the trip is realized within the application year. After completion of the excursion, the signed visit confirmation must be uploaded for reimbursement; inquiries can be clarified using the application number. Through this offer, the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation for Nature Conservation, Homeland and Cultural Care supports practical education for children and young people beyond the classroom.
