Description

Home Victims' Pension offers a fixed monthly pension payment in Vienna for private individuals who suffered violence in children's or youth homes or in foster families and have already received a lump-sum compensation payment from the home operator. The funding is provided as a grant and has been continuously available since July 1, 2017. Eligible are persons who experienced violence in institutions or foster families and whose compensation has already been officially recognized by the state. A prerequisite is also the award of a personal pension, an ongoing minimum security benefit, or reaching the standard retirement age. The Home Victims' Pension Act (Federal Law Gazette No. 69/2017) regulates the entitlements and ensures continuous payment without a limited budget volume.

The Home Victims' Pension aims to guarantee long-term social security and reparation for those affected. The unlimited application possibility allows for a needs-based pension payment regardless of the time of application. Administration is carried out by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (Section IV – Group B), supported by the Social Ministry Service and the umbrella organization of social insurance carriers in Vienna. Interested parties can access all relevant information on the Transparency Portal and, if necessary, contact the mentioned ministry offices to initiate the application process and receive a comprehensive review of the funding requirements.
