Description
The funding supports non-profit organizations and public institutions in Styria in providing accommodation and support for adult women with habitual residence in the state of Styria, as well as their minor children living in the same household, who are affected by physical, psychological, or sexual violence by close relatives. The focus is on covering the costs for accommodation and meals in women's shelters, as well as financing professional counseling and care in the form of daily rates. The assistance covers a period of up to six months, consisting of an initial funding period of two months with the possibility of two extensions, to offer those affected sufficient time to process the experience of violence and to stabilize in a protected environment.
The aim of the measure is to provide women and their minor dependents in emergency situations with rapid and unbureaucratic refuge and to promote long-term strategies for coping with their experiences through professional psychosocial support. The funding is provided as a 100% grant for all eligible expenses – in particular, accommodation and meal costs as well as expenses for qualified counseling and care services. Applications can be submitted at any time from January 1, 2026; the funding measure is unlimited in duration. Through this continuous support, sustainable assistance for women affected by violence and their minor children in Styria is ensured.
