Description
The program offers private households in Carinthia a one-time financial grant to relieve families with children in particularly difficult social and economic situations. The aim of the funding is to avert long-term social risks and bridge existential emergencies through a needs-based payment. Eligible for funding are persons with their main residence in Carinthia who care for at least one child in the shared household and are currently in a financial emergency. The offer is part of the ongoing, continuously available grants in the area of Social Affairs and Work & Social Affairs and has been established since January 1, 2015.
Applications can be submitted throughout the year. For the assessment, detailed proof of income and expenses, a current income statement, a maintenance comparison, as well as evidence of arrears in rent, electricity, and loan installments must be provided. The decision is made at the discretion of the authorities in accordance with the guideline "Assistance and Financial Support for Families in Emergency Situations." The amount of the grant is based on the individual need and the economic situation of the applicants. This option aims to close short-term gaps in assistance and prevent a slide into sustainable precariousness, thereby securing families as independent and stable a living environment as possible.
