Assistance/Support in Financial Emergencies (Leben Helfen Foundation Westerwald)

The Leben Helfen Stiftung Westerwald is aimed at people residing in the Westerwald region who have fallen into financial hardship due to illness, accident, physical or mental disability, or other unforeseen misfortunes beyond their control. The foundation provides permanent grants, particularly supporting individuals, families, children, and adolescents who are no longer able to independently secure their livelihood due to unexpected events. Funding is provided within the thematic area of Work & Social Affairs and is intended to cover urgently needed expenses such as medical care, assistive devices, or childcare. Due to the foundation’s non-profit orientation, donations and capital income flow directly to those in need within the regional area of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Applications can be submitted at any time and are structured in two stages: initially, a telephone preliminary interview is conducted with the foundation’s board to assess the personal need for assistance. Subsequently, applicants complete a self-disclosure form that collects detailed information on income, expenses, as well as assets and liabilities. Key evaluation criteria include the urgency of the hardship and proof of financial need. Once the documents have been reviewed, the board decides on the type and extent of individual aid.
