Description
In Lower Austria, the state promotes activating care as well as accommodation in day-care and residential facilities to specifically develop and permanently maintain the abilities of people with special needs. As a direct grant benefit, the measure is available to private individuals who can submit applications continuously – regardless of a fixed submission period. The focus is on needs-based support, where assistance is granted only as long as a noticeable improvement or maintenance of the health and developmental status is expected.
Eligible for funding are persons with disabilities within the meaning of § 24 NÖ-SHG, who have their main residence or stay in Lower Austria and do not receive comparable benefits from other legal, statutory, or contractual regulations. Requirements include Austrian citizenship (or equivalence) and a properly submitted application to the competent municipality, district administrative authority, or state government. After positive evaluation, the payment is made directly to the facility providers. Thus, the program sustainably contributes to social integration and ensures activating support aimed at individual potentials and the preservation of personal resources.
