Support for Young Adults

Mobile and outpatient aftercare for young adults in Styria ensures the continuity of educational support provided in late adolescence and early adulthood. As a permanent subsidy from 01.01.2026, this social program supports individual processes of becoming independent that were delayed due to crises or trauma experienced during childhood. Both mobile assistance and accompanying care services in socio-educational institutions or with foster caregivers are utilized. The goal is to sustainably consolidate the milestones defined in the care plan and to facilitate the transition of young adults into independent living without relying on residential care.

The funding is aimed at individuals who have reached the age of 18 and have previously received educational support. Consent from the young adults to continue the assistance is a mandatory prerequisite; services are provided only to the extent individually necessary. There is no legal entitlement. Since January 1, 2026, applications can be submitted continuously to the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, Department 11 "Social Affairs, Labor and Integration." Interested parties can obtain comprehensive information about the funding requirements and application procedure directly from the responsible specialist department.
