Funding objective

Promotion of participation and independence of people with disabilities through the provision of grants for prosthetic devices, orthopedic aids, and other assistive devices (procurement, repair, replacement), mobility and orientation training, sign language and written interpreting services, disability-accessible vehicle equipment, as well as necessary structural measures at primary residences in Styria.

Description

The funding initiative "Assistance for Everyday Facilitation for People with Disabilities" in Styria supports the independence and social participation of those affected through a wide range of grants. The scope of services includes the procurement, repair, and replacement of prosthetic devices and orthopedic aids, as well as mobility and orientation training including practical life skills training for blind and visually impaired persons. Additionally, sign language and written interpreting services are subsidized, and the equipment of motor vehicles is adapted to individual mobility needs. Necessary structural measures at the main residence in Styria, such as new construction, extensions, or housing adaptations, can also be subsidized. Applications are possible without time limitation from 01.01.2026 onwards.

Eligible for funding are persons with permanent physical, intellectual, psychological, or sensory impairments who have their main residence in Styria and hold citizenship of an EEA state, Switzerland, or a corresponding residence permit (including recognized refugees or beneficiaries of subsidiary protection) with a residence duration of more than three months. The objective is to precisely meet individual needs and reduce barriers in everyday life. Interested parties submit an "Application for Assistance under the Styrian Disability Act" to Department 11 – Social Affairs, Labor and Integration of the Styrian State Government. This direct funding offers a valuable opportunity to sustainably strengthen personal mobility and participation.
