Description
The operational environmental promotion for wood heating systems for self-supply is aimed at companies, interest groups, other associations, and religious communities throughout Austria that wish to increase their energy efficiency and use renewable energies. The focus is on boiler systems with a nominal heat output of at least 100 kW, operated with wood pellets, chipped solid biomass, or firewood. The goal is the central supply of company-owned buildings with sustainable heat, thereby significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering operating costs in the long term. At the same time, this funding instrument supports climate protection and environmental/nature conservation by promoting the switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, thus contributing to the sustainable development of energy projects.
Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2050, provided the submission occurs before the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction, and the company’s registered office is located in Austria. Eligible expenses include, among others, the boiler including installation, flue gas cleaning with chimney, buffer storage, and the associated heating technology. For an investment volume exceeding 500,000 euros, a report from the credit institution must also be submitted. Technical data sheets and measure-related evidence are part of the application documents. Applications are to be submitted exclusively via the funding agency’s online portal, and Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH is responsible for the technical review as well as support from application submission to disbursement. This attractive grant offer enables organizations to efficiently implement wood heating projects and makes an important contribution to sustainable heat supply.
