Description

The funding topic HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-ENVHLTH-04 is aimed at educational institutions, companies, non-profit and public organizations in EU Member States and associated countries. With a total budget of €7.5 million (100% funding rate), research- and innovation-oriented actions are supported that promote climate-resilient, adaptable, and carbon-neutral health systems as well as resilient populations. Funded are evidence-based interventions, low-carbon medical technologies, and digital solutions validated in pilot projects. Projects can be submitted by 16 April 2026 and must start from 10 February 2026 onwards. Eligible costs include personnel expenses, material costs, and travel expenses.

Interested parties include governments, public health authorities, healthcare providers, municipal and regional administrations, as well as research institutions working on climate and health topics. Projects must involve interdisciplinary teams and consider aspects such as sustainability, gender equality, and open science. Evaluation criteria include innovation content, relevance to the health system, and sustainability aspects. The projects should develop scalable, accessible solutions and test pilot interventions in real-world care contexts. For this purpose, a project description, financing plan, and CVs of key personnel must be submitted. The winners will subsequently form a thematic cluster community and participate in joint workshops, data strategies, and dissemination activities to create synergies and strengthen the policy perspective. Through this integrated collaboration, research results will be consolidated to deliver concrete policy recommendations and innovative technologies for climate-resilient health systems.
