Description

The idea competition "Strong Together – Family Life in Baden-Württemberg" by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration supports visionary project proposals that relieve families with children under 18 years of age as well as their close (chosen) relatives in everyday life and strengthen social cohesion. Participating public institutions, companies, and non-profit organizations based in Baden-Württemberg can submit a fully completed and signed application by May 8, 2026. From a total volume of 600,000 euros, prize money of up to 50,000 euros per project will be awarded, which may be used for project development and implementation over a maximum period of 24 months. A prerequisite – in addition to regional location – is proof of non-profit status through a current exemption notice, provided the applicants are associations or social enterprises.

The competition focuses on four thematic areas: educational partnerships between families and educational professionals, a balanced family life with health and resilience promotion, diversity of different family forms, and support in transition situations (such as changing schools, re-entering the workforce, or separation). An independent jury evaluates the submissions based on clarity of objectives, feasibility, degree of innovation, sustainability, and transferability. Digital formats receive special recognition to make time- and location-independent offerings accessible statewide. The selection of prize winners will take place by June 2026, with project start possible no earlier than July 1, 2026. The funded ideas will subsequently be disseminated throughout the state to multiply their impact and provide impetus for the further development of family policy in Baden-Württemberg.
