Description

The Burg Bodenstein Foundation supports low-income families and individuals in Thuringia with non-repayable grants from the income generated by its endowment. The objective is to enable recreational and educational stays at Burg Bodenstein for minimum durations of three up to a maximum of twelve days. Priority is given to large families, single parents, families with disabled members, or grandparents living in the same household with grandchildren. The per capita income must not exceed an amount of €450 per month (a minor excess of up to 10% is permissible). The funding helps ensure that households with limited financial resources can participate in leisure activities, seminars, or family education programs, thereby facilitating sustainable recreation and social inclusion.

The grant rate is a flat 20% of the full board price per person. Eligible applicants are private individuals who meet the charitable criteria according to § 53 AO. Applications must be submitted no later than four weeks before the start of the trip. Required documents include the completed application form, a financing plan, the occupancy contract of Burg Bodenstein, as well as current income proofs in copies. The board decides on the allocation based on income verification, timely submission of the application, and the availability of the foundation’s income. There is no legal entitlement; however, applications are considered in the order of receipt.
