Description
The Ulm/Donau-Iller Children’s Foundation provides uncomplicated grants through the “Individual Emergency Aid” program for children and adolescents up to 17 years of age from the Donau-Iller region. Individual case assistance can be applied for via a cooperating counseling center (Caritas Ulm-Alb-Donau, Diakonie Ulm, Diakonie Neu-Ulm) when there is an urgent need for leisure activities, educational and participation services, health costs, clothing, or nutrition. The core of this offering is rapid direct aid, which helps to sustainably secure the quality of life of young people and promote their health-related and social participation. Support is provided regardless of origin, culture, language, or denomination, with the child’s welfare always being paramount.
Eligible recipients are private households with low income or receiving benefits (SGB II, SGB XII, housing allowance, etc.), provided their residence is in Baden-Württemberg or Bavaria within the Donau-Iller area. Requirements include being under 17 years of age as well as proof of residence and income situation. Consideration of statutory or municipal mandatory benefits (e.g., education and participation package) is excluded; however, the foundation can supplement public assistance within the maximum funding amount. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and evaluated according to the urgency of the individual case and the family’s socioeconomic situation. For the funding application, a certificate from the cooperating counseling center, income verification, and proof of residence must be submitted. This low-threshold program strengthens disadvantaged families and opens up new perspectives for young people.
