Description

The State Foundation for Victim Protection Schleswig-Holstein offers, within the scope of its ongoing funding opportunities, a one-time, fully funded grant of up to €5,000 for individuals and non-profit organizations. The funding aims to alleviate the material and immaterial consequences of violent and property crimes in Schleswig-Holstein when legal instruments such as the Victim Compensation Act or services from other aid organizations do not provide sufficient support. Funding is provided to victims whose crime was committed in the state after March 30, 2009 – or who had their habitual residence in Schleswig-Holstein at the time of the offense. A prerequisite is demonstrable financial hardship without available personal assets and without enforceable claims for damages against perpetrators or third parties.

Interested applicants must submit a completed application form as well as proof of the crime (e.g., police records), cost receipts, and a declaration of need. Allocation is made at the board's due discretion, taking into account the statutory exemption from benefits, the urgency of the need, and the purpose of the funding. Applications can be submitted at any time to the foundation’s office in Kiel. Through this individual case assistance, the foundation makes an indispensable contribution to relieving affected persons and safeguarding their social participation in Schleswig-Holstein.
