Funding requirements
- The call is open to all company and project sizes.
- Natural persons and organizations (outside the federal administration; private universities excluded) with planned R&D projects according to the guidelines may submit an application.
- Entry projects, FEI projects, and market launch projects are eligible for funding.
- In particular, R&D&I projects aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Austrian companies.
Description
In Vienna, a specialized loan program supports R&D activities with the aim of securing and expanding the innovation capacity and competitiveness of Austrian companies. The focus is on technology-driven internationalization and the development of innovative, high-quality products and services. In addition to strengthening the domestic economic location through application-oriented research results, public demand for innovations is also specifically stimulated. The funding instrument grants loans for entry-level, R&D, and market launch projects, with all company sizes and sectors eligible. Applications can be submitted online during the period 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026 and are managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) on behalf of the Federal Ministries for Innovation, Mobility and Technology as well as for Labour and Economy.
The program is aimed at citizens, companies of all sizes, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and other associations with research and development plans according to the applicable guidelines. Funding prerequisites include project planning in accordance with FFG guidelines and a focus on strengthening competitiveness. Particularly welcome are projects that advance sustainable technological leadership, innovative business models with societal added value, as well as climate- and environmentally friendly solutions. The possibility of combining with non-repayable grants and guarantees for bank loans increases financing flexibility. This loan offer represents a powerful impetus to establish domestic innovations in international markets and to sustainably strengthen the Austrian research landscape.
