Description

The funding program Innovative Cinema Marketing of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH is aimed at operators of cinemas in Berlin and Brandenburg with continuous operations and at least two years of existence. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness and attractiveness of individual arthouse cinemas as well as cooperating cinema operators by supporting extraordinary and innovative advertising and marketing measures. Funded are concepts that go beyond classic poster advertising and creatively engage the audience – from original social media campaigns and interactive event series to joint program booklets or film flash mobs. The maximum funding amount is €20,000 as a grant, whereby a minimum own contribution of 50% must be demonstrated. Prior to submission, a mandatory consultation with the cinema officer of Medienboard must take place, and the measures may only begin after the application has been submitted.

Applications are accepted continuously via the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB). Required documents include the completed application form, a detailed project description, a transparent calculation of expenses, and proof of the own contribution. Evaluation criteria are the degree of innovation of the marketing measure and its contribution to strengthening the regional cinema landscape. The program supports both individual cinemas and cooperations of multiple venues that have the potential to sustainably enrich the film experience for diverse target groups. This funding generates fresh impulses for film culture in Berlin-Brandenburg and creates new access points for cinephile audiences.
