Institute of Science and Technology Austria

The funding ensures the contractually regulated establishment and permanent operation of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria in Lower Austria. Based on an agreement pursuant to Art. 15a B-VG between the federal government and the state of Lower Austria, property, technical infrastructure, and their ongoing operation are provided. The goal is to create a first-class research and innovation environment that optimally supports excellent scientists and early-career researchers. Through the collaboration of the two administrative levels, a sustainable foundation is established to strengthen Austria as a scientific location.

As a public institution, the Institute of Science and Technology Austria is eligible to apply and receives an annual grant of 100,000 euros. Eligible expenses include property provision, infrastructure, and operating costs. The funds serve the establishment, maintenance, and further development of the central facility components. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing flexible adjustment to ongoing needs. Interested administrative units benefit from the continuous support option to secure and further expand the renowned research infrastructure in the long term.
