Description
The PhosZoe Foundation – Light and Life supports non-profit organizations and public institutions in Thuringia with its project "Integration Now" in promoting unaccompanied minor foreign children and adolescents linguistically and socially during the first three months after their arrival. The focus is on establishing targeted language courses that enable a rapid entry into everyday school life and participation in social life. In parallel with the linguistic support, facilities with mixed residential groups are specifically promoted to create a supportive environment. The initial implementation in Thuringia forms the foundation for a planned nationwide expansion of this support.
Funding covers personnel and teaching costs, materials for course supplies, as well as the direct costs of the language courses. A prerequisite for funding is the provision of services within the first three months after arrival and the location being in Thuringia. The project duration is set at three months to enable the unaccompanied youth an intensive start into their new life situation. Through linguistic and social support, the project makes an important contribution to social cohesion and equitable participation of young people with a migration background.
