Description

Vienna-based advocacy groups, foundations, and non-profit initiatives are given the opportunity through this funding to implement measures for the preservation of the Slovenian, Croatian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, and Roma ethnic groups. Projects that secure the existence and cultural identity of these groups, as well as intercultural initiatives that strengthen coexistence, are supported. As direct grants for culture, media, social engagement, and work, the funds provide space for intercultural exchange formats, renovation measures, and the production of key media in ethnic group languages. The ongoing online submission process ensures flexibility in project start dates and facilitates access for associations, churches, funds, and private individuals with ethnic group-specific mandates.

The maximum project duration is twelve months; eligible costs include personnel and material expenses, travel costs, media productions, and structural renovation measures. The selection process evaluates the contribution to the preservation of cultural identity, intercultural impact, economic sustainability, and the organizational viability of the applicants. Central funding requirements include the general reliability of the applicant, a balanced financing plan, and a recommendation from the selection committee. Complete application submission requires the online form, detailed cost calculations, annual financial statements, and activity reporting sheets; optionally, association statutes, rental, or cooperation agreements may be included. Annual calls for proposals with submission deadlines are published on the Federal Chancellery’s website, with funding available from May 2023 onwards. Applicants will find all important guidelines and reference documents there.
