International Research Contributions

Non-profit organizations and public institutions based in Vienna have the opportunity through this funding line to finance membership fees for international scientific organizations and networks. The aim of this measure is to sustainably strengthen the internationalization of the Austrian science system and to expand the networking of domestic research institutions with leading international partners. Applications can be submitted continuously, enabling flexible planning of funding projects. Only expenses for membership fees within the framework of bilateral and multilateral agreements of the FWF are funded, with the budget being unlimited and thus opening up diverse cooperation opportunities.

The target group includes international organizations and networks in the scientific field that benefit from the targeted payment proof of membership fees. The funders expect close coordination with existing agreements of the Austrian Science Fund to maximize synergies and intensify knowledge transfer between Austria and other research institutions. The measure contributes to increasing the number of international collaborations, exchanging know-how, and enhancing the visibility of Austrian research results on a global level. Thanks to the straightforward online application process, projects can be implemented quickly, thereby promoting the quality and competitiveness of the domestic research landscape in the long term.
