Investment Contributions to Municipalities for Fire Departments

The state of Vorarlberg supports Vorarlberg municipalities with investment grants for the procurement and modernization of fire protection equipment and infrastructure. Funding is provided, among other things, for the installation of sirens, the construction of fire water supply systems, the acquisition of radio communication devices and radio alerting systems, as well as firefighting vehicles, extinguishing, rescue, and auxiliary equipment. Furthermore, new construction and renovation of fire stations, their interior fittings, and the procurement of service and protective clothing are eligible for funding. The objective of this measure is to maintain and improve the operational capability of fire brigades within the framework of disaster protection and social cohesion at the municipal level.

As a public institution headquartered and operating within the state of Vorarlberg, municipalities can continuously apply for grants from a budget volume of 1.5 million euros. Funding is provided as a grant within the available resources of the State Fire Brigade Fund and is based on the Fire Protection Regulations as well as the corresponding guideline of the Vorarlberg state government. Through this continuous funding opportunity, the state contributes to ensuring that municipal emergency organizations can always operate with modern equipment. Municipalities can submit applications online and thereby achieve a sustainable strengthening of their disaster protection capabilities.
