Description

The investment cost subsidy from the Free State of Bavaria supports non-profit organizations in construction measures at independent support centers and day-structure facilities (T-ENE) for adults with disabilities after working life. The aim of the funding is to enable activation, participation, and self-determined life design outside one’s own apartment or residential group in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Funding is provided for new construction, conversion, expansion, fundamental modernization (not renovation), as well as the equipment of movable interior furnishings up to €5,000 per place. In exceptional cases, the acquisition of a building including conversion and repair may also be considered. The grant is provided as a subsidy with a funding rate of up to 60% of eligible expenses and requires a minimum own contribution of 30%. Projects must be registered annually by March 15 for inclusion in the annual funding program.

Eligible to apply are legally capable non-profit organizations that have a needs recognition and approval of the location by the supra-local social welfare authority. An approved room and function program as well as proof of financing (including 10% district participation and 30% own funds) are also prerequisites, as is compliance with relevant DIN standards for barrier-free construction. Selection criteria include cost-effectiveness, inclusion-oriented design, and standards-compliant implementation. For the application, among other documents, the construction and room program, location and design plans, cost estimates according to DIN 276/277/283, proof of own and external funds, as well as statutes and proof of non-profit status must be submitted. Approval is granted after professional review and prioritization by the State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs and the responsible district administrations.
