Description
In Rhineland-Palatinate, the program promotes the conversion of existing properties into housing for refugees and asylum seekers within the funding areas of residential construction & modernization as well as infrastructure & urban development. Owners and companies with real rights of use can receive low-interest loans with a ten-year fixed interest rate and a 2% minimum repayment, as well as a repayment grant of 25%. The funding amount is up to 1,150 euros per square meter of eligible living space. With a funding rate of 25% and a project duration of up to 120 months, long-term financing is possible. Eligible expenses include structural adaptations, architectural and planning services, as well as the furnishing of common rooms and areas. This socially and integration-oriented special program creates a sustainable expansion of the housing supply and secures affordable accommodations in the long term.
For the application, compliance with maximum permissible rent ceilings and a ten-year occupancy and rent commitment are prerequisites. The responsible municipality must confirm the local demand, location, and type of project, supplemented by an expert statement from the ministry. An early start of measures is only permitted with separate approval.
