Description
The Zukunftsstiftung Ehrenamt Bayern supports nonprofit associations, organizations, public institutions, and interest groups throughout Bavaria in implementing volunteer-driven projects through its annual project call. Funding is provided for one-time projects with innovative approaches on topics such as social cohesion and democracy, education and training, research and innovation, infrastructure, as well as labor and social affairs. Eligible to apply are tax-privileged public or private law entities with proven nonprofit status that contribute at least 10% own funds and implement their project in Bavaria. The requested funding amount ranges between €1,000 and €15,000, with a maximum project duration of twelve months and the earliest possible start date of September 1, 2026. Eligible expenses include material and external personnel costs, travel expenses, training, work materials, room rental, and office supplies; excluded are, among others, construction or renovation measures, internal personnel costs, and expenses incurred prior to the funding approval.
The selection is based on criteria such as novelty, sustainable impact, low-threshold access, model character, transferable solution approaches, and good networking. Targeted are projects for children and youth, families, multipliers, seniors, people with migration backgrounds, refugees, and people with disabilities. The application must include: online application, tax exemption certificate, project description, financing plan, and proof of contact person. The funding period for applications runs from January 14 to March 18, 2026. This is followed by a multi-stage review process at the office, curatorship, and board level before funding decisions are announced in July. With this funding, Zukunftsstiftung Ehrenamt Bayern aims to expand engagement infrastructure, recognition culture, public relations, and scientific research on civic engagement.
