€1000 Digitalization Boost Each for 19 Remscheid Clubs and/or Initiatives

The program “2,000 x 1,000 Euros for Engagement” by the City of Remscheid will fund a total of 19 volunteer digitization projects in North Rhine-Westphalia from March 2, 2026, each with a grant of 1,000 Euros. Under the motto “Digital into the Future – Committed with AI and Co.”, initiatives and associations are supported that promote social cohesion, democracy, digitization, as well as labor and social affairs. The goal is to optimize the use of modern apps, digital tools, and artificial intelligence within civic structures, simplify processes, and open up new forms of public relations. The funding helps streamline organizational workflows and gain more time for substantive tasks – from minute-taking to AI-generated invitation communication.

Eligible for funding are registered associations, interest groups, and non-profit organizations based or active in Remscheid that operate on a voluntary basis and can demonstrate a concrete project connection to the focal theme. Applications can be submitted starting March 2, 2026, as long as funds are available. Participants develop individual digitization concepts with the help of workshops and expert training to support their project ideas from conception to implementation. The grant supports not only technical acquisitions but also qualification measures that contribute to a sustainable digital strategy within the involved association structures in the long term. The call explicitly targets volunteers who wish to make their associations future-proof with innovative AI solutions.
