Description

The project "A Lunch for Every Child" by the Bürgerstiftung Nottuln targets children from financially disadvantaged families within the Nottuln municipality. Its goal is to promote community, equal opportunities, and health through regular, balanced meals in schools and daycare centers. Since municipal reimbursement is not possible, the foundation finances lunches and increasingly also breakfasts. The measure contributes to strengthening social skills, creating structure in daily life, and supporting concentration and educational success. Allocation is needs-based and anonymous, thus preserving the dignity of the supported families. There is no legal entitlement; support depends on actual need and available donations.

Eligible for funding are private individuals who can demonstrate verified financial need and for whom no other reimbursement options are available. Applications can be submitted continuously as long as funds are available. Applicants submit a needs assessment to the Bürgerstiftung Nottuln, which reviews applications based on clearly defined evaluation criteria. Only expenses for lunches and breakfasts in educational institutions in the North Rhine-Westphalia region are funded. Through flexible and needs-oriented allocation of funds, the Bürgerstiftung makes a sustainable contribution to poverty prevention and the participation of children and youth. Interested institutions and parents are encouraged to register their needs at any time to ensure continuous provision.
