Description
JEP | young engaged imaginative supports non-profit and public organizations as well as educational institutions throughout Germany in the implementation of extracurricular cultural education projects for educationally disadvantaged youth aged 12 to 18. A prerequisite is a local alliance of at least three partners jointly responsible for the concept, implementation, and evaluation. Various formats are funded, ranging from applied and visual arts to music, theater, dance, and film, as well as media education and upcycling projects. Special consideration is given to thematic focuses such as gender sensitivity, offerings in rural areas, and sustainability. Each applicant can request funding of up to 55,000 euros per year. Applications can be submitted continuously via the Kumasta database.
The selection is based on specific criteria: creative design, active participation of the youth, imparting practical skills, involvement of professional experts, as well as engagement of volunteers and peers. A practice-oriented final format strengthens the participants’ self-confidence and documents project results. To apply, among other documents, the organization’s statutes, a current register excerpt, a tax exemption certificate, and a project-related statement from a municipal authority must be submitted. With this, JEP sustainably promotes the cultural participation of young people and creates impulses for innovative educational alliances nationwide.
