Description
The funding program enables young adults from Brandenburg to gain practical learning and work experiences in non-European development and return encounter projects. The goal is to strengthen development policy education and intercultural exchange by having participants actively engage in educational, social, and agricultural projects. Both outgoing and incoming measures span three to twelve weeks, including preparation and follow-up. Expenses for round-trip travel, visas, vaccinations, insurance, and accommodation, as well as qualified workshops for individual and group preparation and follow-up, are funded.
Eligible to apply are young people aged 18 to 27 (under certain conditions from 14 years old when accompanied) residing in Brandenburg, as well as non-profit project partners from non-European developing countries according to the DAC list. The grant amount varies depending on the destination region between €600 and €1,300 for travel costs; additionally, up to €1,280 can be requested for preparatory seminars and up to €640 for follow-up measures. Applications can be submitted at any time but must be received by the North-South Bridges Foundation at least three months before the start of the trip. Thus, the program offers a sustainable opportunity to expand intercultural competencies, understand global contexts, and actively contribute to development cooperation.
