Description
The Andreas Mohn Foundation honors young chamber music ensembles from North Rhine-Westphalia with a prestigious sponsorship award, which has been granted annually since 2013. Eligible to participate are private emerging groups that can provide a recommendation from the state competition Jugend musiziert or the Chamber Music Center NRW. A highly qualified jury composed of representatives from the state competition, the Chamber Music Center, the Robert Schumann Hochschule, and other cultural institutions evaluates the artistic quality as well as the ensemble performance. The award not only recognizes outstanding musical talent but also opens doors for participants to an inspiring network of renowned experts in the German music scene.
A total prize money of €1,500 is available; in addition, the awardees receive multi-day rehearsal sessions with preferred instructors to further refine their repertoire and promote their personal musical development. The prize winners present a matinee concert in alternating, culturally and historically significant castles and noble houses of NRW, which is accompanied by a formal award ceremony and reception. The foundation places great importance on presenting the young talents in an appropriate setting, thereby supporting the networking and visibility of the ensembles. Applications are possible annually; exact deadlines are provided by the Andreas Mohn Foundation upon request. This funding program is aimed at ambitious young people who wish to further develop their chamber music skills and present them to a broad public.
