Description
The funding format Youth Participation Projects in Erasmus+ Youth supports projects nationwide that actively involve young people in democratic life and civil society in Europe. Non-profit organizations and public institutions can receive grants of up to €60,000 to implement initiatives developed by, with, and for young people. The focus is on thematic areas such as education, social cohesion, culture, media, sports, environmental, climate and animal protection, as well as migration and social issues. Continuous application submission is possible twice a year, with deadlines in February and October. Through participatory formats such as workshops, dialogue events with decision-makers, or simulations of democratic processes, key competencies and European engagement are sustainably strengthened.
Funding is provided for local, regional, national, and transnational projects whose content is oriented towards the interests of young people. Eligible to apply are groups of young people as well as organizations; for international projects, partners from all participating countries are required. Eligible expenses include, among others, project management, coaching, inclusion measures, travel and event costs, as well as fees and material costs. Funding is granted either as a lump sum or partial cost reimbursement. The goal is to create spaces where youth participation can be tested, democratic values conveyed, and young people can independently shape political processes. The program thus makes an important contribution to promoting an active European youth and strengthening social cohesion.
